From Istanbul Airport to Italy: A Lost Phone Finds Its Owner Again

Two countries. One recovered phone. Two happy thumbs up.
What began with a recovered phone in Istanbul ended with a smile in Italy.
Two photographs, one complete story
At first glance, the photographs were taken in very different places: an airport in Türkiye and a home in Italy. Look again and the connection becomes clear. There is the same recovered phone, and the same thumbs-up gesture.
In Istanbul, Ana Kurye founder Özlem Boz holds the phone after collecting it. In Italy, its owner holds it after its return. Together, the photographs show the result more directly than a long delivery update could.
Returning something personal
When a traveller is already in another country, distance can turn collecting a found item into a difficult task. Someone needs to understand the holding office’s instructions, arrange an authorised pickup and check how the item can be sent onward.
This customer’s phone was collected at Istanbul Airport and returned to Italy. The story ends with a real photograph of the owner smiling with her phone and the Ana Kurye parcel.
A thank-you from Italy
The customer shared a Google review under the public name Lia P: “Complimenti per il tuo lavoro, grazie 🇮🇹”. In English: “Congratulations on your work, thank you 🇮🇹”.
Her private name, address and shipment details are not needed to tell this story. The two photographs and her short public message say enough.
Already left Istanbul?
If an airport, airline, hotel or another holding location confirms that it has your item, an independent collection service may help with the next steps. Release authorisation, collection availability and delivery options must first be checked.
For an item found at Istanbul Airport, read Ana Kurye’s full account of this return to Italy, or contact the team to discuss your own collection requirements. This completed return does not guarantee a result or delivery time for another case.
